Iran sees increase in buy/sell operations at its Mercantile Exchange

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 12. In total, 2.41 million tons of goods worth about 198 trillion rials (about $4.72 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), during the last Iranian week (November 5 through November 10, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is an increase of 30.3 percent in value and 5 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian week (October 29 through November 3, 2022).

So, 2.3 million tons of goods worth about 152 trillion rials (about $3.61 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), in the preceding Iranian week.

According to the report, 1.98 million tons of goods worth about 129 trillion rials (about $3.06 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.

The main products sold in this section included cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, zinc, aluminum, copper, molybdenum concentrate, gold bars and etc.

In addition, 415,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 67.2 trillion rials (about $1.6 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week.

The main products sold in this section were polymer substances, vacuum bottoms, lube cuts, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, bitumen and etc.

At the same time, 12,100 tons of various products worth about 2.34 trillion rials (about $55.7 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
