BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 22. Overall, Iran exported 5.1 million tons of non-oil products worth $2.8 billion from Tehran Province in the north of the country, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), Deputy Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Tehran Province Hassan Mirzaei said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Mirzaei noted that the exports from Tehran Province accounted for 9.7 percent of Iran's total non-oil exports for the reporting period.

The deputy chairman said that the province’s products were exported to 17 countries, including Türkiye, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkmenistan.

“The exported products were mainly industrial, agricultural, and food products, as well as carpets, minerals and petrochemicals,” he added.

According to Mirzaei, the non-oil exports through Tehran Province’s 3 main customs - Imam Khomeini Port Customs, West Customs and Tehran Customs, amounted to 426,000 tons worth $567 million in 7 months. This is an increase of 23 percent in value and 2 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“Within 7 months, 288,000 tons of goods worth $607 million were imported to Tehran Province. The imported goods were mainly equipment, raw materials, agricultural products, industrial products and various petrochemicals,” the official also pointed out.
