Iran sees increase in value of non-oil exports via Shahid Bahonar Port’s customs

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 1. The value of non-oil exports through the customs of Iran’s Shahid Bahonar Port in Hormozgan Province increased by 50 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, head of Iran’s Shahid Bahonar Port Customs Office Fariborz Gorgi told IRNA, Trend reports.

The official noted that in overall, $65 million worth of non-oil products were exported through customs of Shahid Bahonar port in 8 months.

Gorgi added that the main exported goods were vegetables, fruits, mining minerals, etc. These goods were mainly exported to the UAE, Oman, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq.

“Furthermore, $268 million worth of goods were imported through customs of ports in 8 months, which is an increase of 299 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

According to Gorgi, the goods were imported mainly from the UAE and China through Shahid Bahonar port’s customs.

The official also pointed out that the income of the mentioned customs for 8 months amounted to 8.7 trillion rials (about $207 million), which is an increase of 79 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
