BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 14. In total, Iran exported 6.76 million tons of raw steel and steel products worth $3.7 billion, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), Trend reports referring to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
According to the IRICA, Iran's export of raw steel and steel products did not change significantly in value, while decreased by about 8 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022), the country’s raw steel and steel products exports amounted to 1.14 million tons worth $568 million.
As reported, Iran's annual steel production is more than 30 million tons. Iran plans to increase the figure to 55 million tons by 2025.
