BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 18. As many as 37 manufacturing enterprises have been put into use in Iran’s Semnan Province in the north of the country since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 to December 18), Deputy Director of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) for Semnan Province Davoud Bavand told reporters, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Bavand noted that a total of 3.8 trillion rials (about $90.5 million) has been spent on the mentioned manufacturing enterprises.
He also added that with the launch of the manufacturing enterprises 498 people were employed. Various chemicals, metal, cellulose, electronics, etc. will be produced in these enterprises.
According to the deputy director, in order to establish new enterprises in the province, 105 hectares of land have been handed over to 85 investors since the beginning of the current Iranian year.
There are 18 industrial parks in Iran's Semnan Province. These industrial parks are located in an area of about 6,880 hectares. About 90 percent of manufacturing enterprises in industrial parks are small-sized, 6 percent are medium-sized, and the rest are large-sized.
