BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 18. The volume of red meat produced in Iran for the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2022 through January 20, 2023), decreased by 21 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year Trend reports via the statistics of Statistical Center of Iran (SCI).
Overall, 41,026 tons of red meat were produced in Iran within the 10th month.
According to the statistics, 20,702 tons of beef and veal were produced in Iran for the 10th month, which accounts for 50.5 percent of the country’s total red meat production.
Furthermore, 16,673 tons of lamb and mutton were produced in the country during the reporting month, which account for 40.6 percent of the total red production.
Over the 10th month, goat meat production in Iran amounted to 2,795 tons, and account for 6.8 percent of the total red production.
At the same time, 856 tons other animals meat such as buffalo, camel, and so on were produced in Iran in the 10th month, which account for 2.1 percent of the total red meat production in Iran.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture of Jihad Iran, the country produces 1.2 million tons of red meat per year.
Currently, the price of 1 kg of mutton is around 3.4-3.65 million rials (about $80.9-$86.9) and 1 kg of beef and veal meat is around 3.1-3.98 million rials (about $73.8-$97.6).
