BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. Iran's aluminum ingots production increased by 17 percent, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
According to the report, four Iranian aluminum companies produced a total of 528,060 tons of aluminum ingots in 10 months. The figure stood at 451,193 tons in the same period last Iranian year.
"The South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) produced 226,467 tons of aluminum ingots, the Iranian Aluminum Company – 147,560 tons, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company – 123,403 tons, and Iran Alumina Company – 30,630 tons within ten months," the report said.
Furthermore, the Iran Alumina Company produced 190,782 tons of alumina powder for 10 months, which is a decrease of 1 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the company’s alumina powder production amounted to 193,534 tons.
Over 10 months, the Iranian Alumina Company also produced 464,622 tons of bauxite.
In overall, Iran produced 538,633 tons of aluminum ingot in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), which is an increase of 20 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).
Iran's annual aluminum ingot production capacity is about 700,000 tons.
