BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 14. Iran's aluminum ingots output increased by 14.5 percent, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
Four Iranian aluminum companies produced a total of 580,111 tons of aluminum ingots in 11 months.
Meanwhile, the figure stood at 506,410 tons in the same period last Iranian year.
"The South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) produced 248,324 tons of aluminum ingots, the Iranian Aluminum Company – 162,955 tons, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company – 135,343 tons, and Iran Alumina Company – 33,489 tons in eleven months," the IMIDRO said.
At the same time, the Iran Alumina Company produced 206,887 tons of alumina oxide for 11 months, which is a decrease of 2 percent compared to 211,499 tons in the same period last Iranian year.
Within 11 months, the Iranian Alumina Company also produced 512,910 tons of bauxite.
In overall, Iran produced 538,633 tons of aluminum ingot in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), which is an increase of 20 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).
Iran's annual aluminum ingot production capacity is about 700,000 tons.
