BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Iran’s non-oil exports from Gilan Province in the north of the country, increased by 9 percent in value and 7.1 percent in volume, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Gilan Province Teymour Pour Heydari told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to him, a total of 1.09 million tons of non-oil products worth $653 million were exported from Iran’s Gilan Province in the last Iranian year.

Pour Heydari said that the main exported goods were agricultural and food products worth $231 million, industrial products worth $50 million, petrochemical products worth $28 million, mining products worth $12 million.

The chairman noted that the mentioned goods were mainly exported to Eurasian countries.

Also, $1.37 billion worth of goods were imported to Iran's Gilan Province within the last year, which is an increase of 32 percent compared to the preceding year, Pour Heydari added.

Overall, Iran exported over 111 million tons of non-oil products worth $48.8 billion within the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through February 19, 2023).

This is an increase of 12.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 1 percent in volume compared to the same period in the preceding Iranian year.

At the same time, Iran imported a total of 33.6 million tons of goods worth $53.7 billion for 11 months, which is an increase of 15.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 8.61 percent in volume compared to the same period in the preceding Iranian year.
