BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. Domestic minibus and bus production in Iran increased by 43.6 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), as was reflected in the statistics of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, Trend reports.
Overall, 2,509 minibuses and buses were manufactured in the country over the last Iranian year, while in the preceding year, the production stood at 1,747.
Iran has manufactured 1,118 minibuses and 1,391 buses within the last Iranian year. The figure amounted to 1,009 and 738 respectively, in the preceding year.
Meanwhile, about 1.35 million various vehicles, including passenger cars, pick-ups, heavy trucks and trailers, vans, buses and minibuses, etc. were manufactured in Iran during last Iranian year - an increase of 39 percent compared to about 971,000 in preceding Iranian year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
