BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. There are currently 27 factories and facilities in Iran, which are expected to be put into operation in the near future, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

“In general, about $707 million was spent on the mentioned facilities in connection with the development of the country’s mining sector,” the IMIDRO said.

Among these facilities, the ‘Shahid Bakeri’ Thermal Power Plant in Iran’s Semnan Province can be mentioned. This TPP was built under the agreement of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade and the Ministry of Energy, and has an electricity generation capacity of 366 megawatt-hours.

One of the other important facilities is the Hird Gold Bar Production Plant in Iran’s South Khorasan Province. The annual gold bullion production capacity of this plant is 200 kilograms.

The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) is operating under the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade of Iran. There are 64 companies are operating under auspices of this organization.

The IMIDRO and its subsidiaries intend to implement projects worth $16.3 billion within 5 years (from March 20, 2020, to March 21, 2025) and put new facilities into operation as a part of the projects. Reportedly, the mentioned facilities will operate in steel, copper, aluminum, gold, and other fields.
