IMIDRO records growth in Iran’s coal concentrate output

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. The coal concentrate output of two companies operating under the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), increased by 64.2 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports citing the IMIDRO’s website.

The mentioned two companies are Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company and Central Alborz Coal Company.

According to the IMIDRO, the two companies produced a total of 816,341 tons of coal concentrate during the last Iranian year, while the figure stood at 496,937 tons in the preceding year.

So, Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company produced 702,288 tons of coal concentrate, and Central Alborz Coal Company - 114,053 tons for the last Iranian year.

Also, these companies extracted approximately 2.27 million tons of minerals within the last year.

In addition, 766,640 tons of coal concentrate were sent by the mentioned two companies to local companies in the country over the reporting period. This is an increase of 48 percent compared to 518,754 tons in the preceding Iranian year.

Reportedly, Iran's total coal reserve is about 14 billion tons, of which about 1.2 billion tons are extractable. Also, Iran has the capacity to extract 3.3 million tons of coal mineral and produce 1.9 million tons of coal concentrate per year.
