BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 15. The sales of 90 companies operating in Iran’s mining industry on the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), increased by 18 percent in value, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

In total, the value of the sales of Iran's mining industry companies on the Iran Mercantile Exchange for the last Iranian year amounted to $22.4 billion.

During the 12th month of the last Iranian year alone (February 20 through March 20, 2023), the value of sales of the mentioned companies at the IME stood at $2.9 billion. This shows a 36-percent increase compared to the same month in the preceding year.

Reportedly, a number of economic factors, including the cancellation of restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic in China as of the last months of the last Iranian year, the increase in the prices of various mining industry products in the world markets, the increase in interest in the sale of mining industry products for export purposes at the Iran Mercantile Exchange are the main reasons for the increase in the sale of Iran's mining products.
