BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. Iran's aluminum ingots output increased by 12.9 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
Overall, 632,166 tons of aluminum ingots were produced by four Iranian aluminum companies in the last Iranian year.
"Last year, the South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) produced 270,185 tons of aluminum ingots, the Iranian Aluminum Company – 178,077 tons, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company – 147,749 tons, and the Iran Alumina Company – 36,155 tons," the IMIDRO said.
At the same time, the Iran Alumina Company produced 225,942 tons of alumina oxide within the mentioned period, which is a decrease of 2 percent compared to 230,682 tons in the preceding Iranian year.
Also, the Iranian Alumina Company produced 571,680 tons of bauxite in the last Iranian year.
On average, Iran's annual aluminum ingot production capacity is about 700,000 tons.
