BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. As many as 83,000 tons of agricultural products worth 24 trillion rials (about $571 million) were exported from Jolfa County of Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province in the north-west of the country, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), Director of Jolfa County Agriculture Department, Reza Abbasi told IRNA, Trend reports.
The director said that the export of agricultural products from Jolfa County increased by 15 percent in value compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022).
According to Abbasi, the main exported agricultural products were vegetable tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, apples, dried fruits, pomegranates, kiwifruit, grapes, and dates.
He added that the mentioned goods were exported to member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Georgia.
Overall, Iran exported more than 122 million tons of non-oil products worth approximately $53.2 billion in the last Iranian year, which increased by 10 percent in value, while did no change in volume compared to the preceding year.
