BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Indonesia amounted to about 1.82 million tons worth more than $965 million, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), a member of the international and foreign trade committee of the House of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Rouhollah Latifi said on social media, Trend reports.
According to Latifi, the non-oil trade turnover between Iran and Indonesia decreased by 10.7 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2023).
The official also said that Iran exported 1.73 million tons of non-oil products to Indonesia worth about $847 million in the last year. The main exported goods were steel and iron products, dates, raisins, spices, saffron, marble stone, etc.
“In addition, Iran imported 93,200 tons of goods from Indonesia worth approximately $119 million. Coffee, palm oil, coconut and others were the main imported goods from Indonesia,” he said.
On May 22, 2023, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi paid a visit Indonesia at the invitation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo. The main purpose of the visit is to develop economic, political and cultural relations between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Iran's total non-oil trade turnover amounted to over 159 million tons worth approximately $113 billion. The trade turnover increased by 11.2 percent in value compared to the preceding year.
Overall, Iran exported more than 122 million tons of non-oil products worth approximately $53.2 billion over the last Iranian year, which increased by 10 percent in value, while it did not change in volume compared to the preceding year.
At the same time, Iran imported a total of 37.1 million tons of goods worth approximately $59.7 billion for the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 13 percent in volume, while a decrease of 10 percent in volume compared to the preceding year.
