BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. In total, about 2.87 million tons of goods worth 273 trillion rials (about $6.5 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), during the last Iranian week (May 20 through May 25, 2023), Trend reports.
The sales have decreased by 18.5 percent in value compared to the preceding Iranian week (May 13 through May 18, 2023).
Meanwhile, about 3.2 million tons of goods and 500 various passenger cars worth 335 trillion rials (about $7.97 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week.
Last week, 2.32 million tons of goods worth 187 trillion rials (about $4.46 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section.
The main products sold in this section included cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, aluminum, copper, lead, molybdenum concentrate and etc.
Furthermore, 420,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 82.4 trillion rials (about $1.96 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week.
The main products sold in this section were bitumen, vacuum bottom, polymers, chemicals, lube cut, base oil, petroleum products, sulfur, etc.
At the same time, 13,300 tons of various products worth 3.03 trillion rials (about $72.1 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
In addition, 400 kilograms of saffron worth 128 billion rials (about $3.05 million) were sold in the agricultural section of the IME.
