BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. Pick-up truck production in Iran increased by 58 percent, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
Within 2 months, 21,404 pick-ups were manufactured in the country, while this figure stood at 13,522 in the same period last Iranian year.
Alone the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), Iran’s pick-up truck manufacturing amounted to 13,433 units. This is an increase 59 percent compared to 8,433 units in the same month of the last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, a total of 193,437 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-ups, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks and trailers and etc.) were produced in Iran within 2 months.
Overall, 125,507 pick-ups were manufactured in Iran for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 56 percent compared to 80,243 units in the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
