BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10. Three individuals were fined a total of 3,600 manat ($2,117) in the first half of 2023, Head of the Consumer Protection Department of the State Service for Antimonopoly Control and Supervision of the Consumer Market under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan Roman Garashov told Trend.
"In connection with consumer rights, two individuals were fined 3,000 manat or $1,764 (each individual was fined 1,500 manat or $882.3), one individual was fined 600 manat (almost $353) for violating the rules of exchange or return of sold goods," he said.
Meanwhile, an administrative protocol drawn up against nine legal entities has been sent to the court for consideration for violation of the rules for the exchange or return of sold goods.
A total of 3,176 applications received by the State Service for Antimonopoly Control and Supervision of the Consumer Market during the first half of 2023, of which 1,187 were considered.
Meanwhile, of the considered appeals, legal explanations and recommendations were given on 1371 appeals, as many as 160 were sent for consideration to the relevant authorities, 10 were recommended for consideration, the process of consideration of 22 appeals was stopped due to lack of necessary documents, 426 are currently under consideration.
As a result, 186,010 manat ($109,417) were returned to consumers by economic entities that committed violations, and damage in the amount of up to 34,680 manat ($20,399) was compensated.
