BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 30. The passenger car manufacturing of Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO) increased by 4.3 percent, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
As indicated in the report of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, the IKCO manufactured more than 177,204 passenger cars in 4 months.
Meanwhile, in the same period of the last Iranian year, the company’s passenger car production stood at 169,969 units.
During 4 months, Iran Khodro Company sold 178,053 passenger cars within the country, which is a decrease of 0.4 percent compared to 178,829 units in the same period last Iranian year.
In total, Iran Khodro Company manufactured 630,736 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-ups, trucks and trailers, vans, buses and minibuses) in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
This is an increase of 37.7 percent compared to 458,785 units in the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
