BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 14. Iran imported nearly 10,600 tons of goods worth over $11.1 million from Turkmenistan, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), Trend reports.
As indicated in the data of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), the imports increased by 5.1 percent in value, while decreasing by 41.8 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
So, Iran’s imports from Turkmenistan stood at 18,200 tons worth $10.6 million in the same period of the last year.
During 4 months, Iran mainly imported petroleum coke, cotton, fabric, etc. from Turkmenistan.
Meanwhile, in the 4th month of the current Iranian alone (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Iran imported 900 tons of goods worth $1.14 million from Turkmenistan.
Overall, Iran imported 11.8 million tons of goods worth $19.5 billion within the first 4 months of the current Iranian year.
This is an increase of 10.8 percent in value and 6.18 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
