Value of Iran’s non-oil imports from Georgia halves

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 24. Iran's imports from Georgia decreased by 51.6 percent in value and 29.3 percent in volume, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

As reflected in the statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran imported 13,800 tons of goods worth approximately $33 million from Georgia in 4 months.

Meanwhile, Iran's imports from Georgia amounted to 19,600 tons worth $68.3 million in the same period last Iranian year.

Iran imported mainly agricultural products, timber, various types of equipment and spare parts, etc. from Georgia during 4 months.

In the 4th month of the current Iranian year alone (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Iran imported 6,400 tons of goods worth $14.1 million from Georgia.

Overall, Iran imported 11.8 million tons of goods worth $19.5 billion within the first 4 months of the current Iranian year.

This is an increase of 10.8 percent in value and 6.18 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
