BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 4. Iran's imports from Türkiye increased by 12.3 percent in value and 10 percent in volume, during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
As indicated in the statistics of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran imported 1.28 million tons of goods worth $2.43 billion from Türkiye in 5 months.
In the same period of last Iranian year, Iran's import from Türkiye stood at 1.16 million tons worth $2.16 billion.
Over 5 months, Iran mainly imported various types of equipment, food products, raw materials, fabric, etc. from Türkiye.
Meanwhile, in the 5th month alone (July 22 through August 22, 2023), Iran imported 188,000 tons of goods worth $386 million from Türkiye.
Overall, Iran imported 14.4 million tons of goods worth $24.2 billion within the first 5 months of the current Iranian year.
This is an increase of 7.49 percent in value and 2.17 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
