BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 19. Around 3.77 million tons of non-oil products worth over $1.36 billion were exported through the customs of Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), said Asad Farahmand, deputy director of the Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan Province, Trend reports.

Farahmand added that the main products exported through the province’s customs were various agricultural and petrochemical products.

"In addition, 209,000 tons of goods worth $399 million were imported through the customs of the province. The imports mainly consisted of equipment, spare parts, and raw materials," the official noted.

Overall, Iran exported 55.9 million tons of non-oil products worth $19.3 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 26.5 percent in value and a decrease of 8.55 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.

At the same time, Iran imported 14.4 million tons of goods worth $24.2 billion within five months of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 7.49 percent in value and 2.17 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
