Iran observes surge in non-oil exports to Afghanistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. Iran’s non-oil exports to Afghanistan via the Dogharoon border terminal in Razavi Khorasan Province (north-eastern Iran) increased by 5 percent, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, head of the terminal Esmaeil Pourabed said, Trend reports.

The official noted that more than 643,000 tons of non-oil products were exported to Afghanistan through Dogharoon border terminal in 6 months.

He added that the mentioned volume of goods was carried to Afghanistan by 24,488 trucks.

According to Pourabed, construction materials, fittings, gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and so on were main exported goods via the border terminal within the specified period.

Pourabed also pointed out that Dogharoon border terminal ranks the 3rd in terms of exports among the country's border terminals.

Overall, Iran exported 55.9 million tons of non-oil products worth $19.3 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023).

This is an increase of 26.5 percent in value and a decrease of 8.55 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
