BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 16. The coal concentrate output of two companies operating under the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), increased by 3.17 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2023), compared to the same month last year, Trend reports.
The mentioned two companies are Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company and Central Alborz Coal Company.
During 5th month, the two companies produced a total of 69,011 tons of coal concentrate. Of the mentioned amount, 58,136 tons accounted for Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company and 10,875 tons for Central Alborz Coal Company.
Meanwhile, in the 5th month of the last Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2022), the two companies’ total production stood at 66,886 tons.
According to the data from the IMIDRO, the mentioned two companies extracted 163,700 tons of minerals in the fifth month.
Moreover, 69,997 tons of coal concentrate were sent by these companies to local companies in the country within the specified month, which is an increase of 13 percent compared to 61,859 tons in the same month last year.
Reportedly, Iran's total coal reserve is about 14 billion tons, of which about 1.2 billion tons are extractable. Also, Iran has the capacity to extract 3.3 million tons of coal mineral and produce 1.9 million tons of coal concentrate per year.
