Iran’s non-oil exports to Turkmenistan shrinks in volume

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 16. Iran exported 625,000 tons of non-oil products worth approximately $209 million to Turkmenistan in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), Trend reports.

According to the data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran's non-oil exports to Turkmenistan for the reporting period increased by 1.3 percent in value while decreasing by 0.9 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.

In the corresponding period last year, Iran’s non-oil exports to Turkmenistan stood at 631,000 tons of goods worth $206 million.

Iran exported to Turkmenistan mainly agricultural and food products, industrial products, transformers, water conditioners, petrochemical products, etc.

In the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2023), Iran's non-oil exports to Turkmenistan were around 118,000 tons, worth approximately $40.7 million.

Overall, Iran exported 67.7 million tons of non-oil products worth over $24.1 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 2.62 percent in value and a decrease of 29 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.

Iran's non-oil exports exclude only crude oil, mazut, and white oil. Due to the imposed sanctions, Iran cannot freely export the mentioned products. That’s why it attaches importance to the export of non-oil products.
