BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 19. Iran’s local truck and trailer manufacturing increased by 35 percent, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023), compared with the same time last year, Trend reports.
Data from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade shows that 21,711 trucks and trailers were produced in the country during the past seven months.
In the same period last year, Iran’s domestic truck and trailer output stood at 16,083.
In the 7th month (September 23 through October 22, 2023), Iran manufactured 2,864 trucks and trailers countrywide, representing a 3.2 percent decrease compared with 2,959 units in the same month last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, 34,136 trucks and trailers were manufactured in the country over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023). Iran’s domestic truck and trailer production increased by 150 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
Overall, 762,567 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks, trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran in 7 months. This is an increase of 21.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies, Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
