BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. Iran’s production of various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks and trailers, and so on) grew by 17.8 percent in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
Over the course of eight months, Iran produced a total of 882,471 various vehicles, as indicated in the data from the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade.
In the corresponding period of the previous Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), Iran’s overall auto manufacturing stood at 749,157.
During the 8th month alone (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran manufactured 119,904 various vehicles, representing a decrease of 2.1 percent compared to 122,538 units in the same month of the last Iranian year.
Overall, approximately 1.35 million vehicles, including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, heavy trucks and trailers, vans, buses and minibuses, and so on, were manufactured in Iran during the previous Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), a 39 percent increase over the previous year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
There are three giant car manufacturing companies—Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro—operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
