BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 2. Iran’s local pickup truck production grew by 42.7 percent during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
Data from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade shows that Iran manufactured 106,733 pickup trucks in 8 months.
Meanwhile, in the same period as the previous Iranian year, the country’s pickup truck output stood at 74,806 units.
During the 8th month (September 23 through October 22, 2023), 15,657 pick-up trucks were manufactured in Iran, representing a 22.3 percent increase from 12,796 units in the same month last Iranian year.
In 8 months, Iran produced 882,471 vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, lorries, trailers, and so on). This is a 17.8 percent rise over the same period last year.
Overall, 125,507 pick-ups were manufactured in Iran for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 56 percent compared to 80,243 units in the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
