Iran boosts import from Azerbaijan in value and volume

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 5. Iran’s imports from Azerbaijan soared by 45.7 percent in value and 2.4 percent in value during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period the previous year, Trend reports.

As reflected in the data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran imported about 14,700 tons of goods worth $35 million from Azerbaijan in 8 months.

In the corresponding period last Iranian year, Iran’s imports from Azerbaijan stood at 14,300 tons worth $24 million.

The main import items for the reporting period were equipment, compressed soybeans, various profiles, from Azerbaijan.

During the 8th month alone (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran imported 643 tons of goods worth $4.61 million from Azerbaijan.

Overall, Iran imported 24.7 million tons of goods worth $42.2 billion in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023). This is an increase of 12.3 percent in value and 4.32 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
