BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. Iran’s non-oil trade through its Parvizkhan customs (in Kermanshah Province), on the border with Iraq, reached $3.07 billion in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), said Reza Ghorbani, the head of Parvizkhan Customs Office, Trend reports.

He said this was the record figure for Parvizkhan customs during the times of its operation, adding that this shows the importance of Parvizkhan customs among the province’s other customs checkpoints.

Most of the non-oil products, worth over $600 million, were exported to Iraq during the mentioned period, via Parvizkhan customs checkpoint.

Ghorbani added that the revenues for the exports increased by 36 percent to 448 billion rials (about $10.7 million), compared to the same period last year.

In general, Iran’s non-oil exports to Iraq through land-based customs and border markets amounted to $6.94 billion and 16.9 million tons last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), of which $2.67 billion and 6.77 million tons came from Kermanshah Province.

Overall, Iran’s non-oil exports reached $32.2 billion in value and more than 90 million tons in volume in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023).

Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the value of non-oil exports decreased by 1.6 percent, while the volume increased by 27 percent.

Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
