BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. Several investors have recently applied to invest a total of 2 quadrillion rials (about $47.6 billion) at Iran's Imam Khomeini International Airport, said Saeed Chalandari, the executive director of Imam Khomeini Airport City Company, Trend reports.
He made this statement today (December 19) at the 7th International Expo of Transportation, Logistics & Related Industries in Tehran, Iran.
Chalandari further remarked that such interest in Imam Khomeini Airport was not observed a few years ago.
The airport also includes a free and special economic zone on 14,000 hectares, where more than half of the services are offered electronically, according to the director. He stated that efforts are being made to increase internet services to 100 percent.
The 7th International Expo of Transportation, Logistics, and Related Industries, which features numerous road, rail, air, and transport corporations, as well as start-ups, began yesterday (December 18) in Tehran and will last three days.
