BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 3. Iran’s western province of Kermanshah has imported 11,400 tons of goods, worth $76.2 million in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), an official of the Kermanshah Province Customs Office, Ali Asghar Abbaszadeh said, Trend reports.
According to Abbaszadeh, the province’s imports for the reporting period grew by 4 percent in value, while dropping by 2 percent in volume, compared to the same period last year.
He added that the imported goods mainly consist of equipment, spare parts, raw materials, and catalysts.
“In the 9th month alone (November 22 through December 21, 2023), 900 tons of goods worth $4.4 million were imported to the province,” the official said.
To note that, there are two border checkpoints and five border markets in Kermanshah Province, Iran.
The IRICA's latest data shows that Iran’s overall imports stood at 28.7 million tons, worth $48.4 billion, in the first nine months of the current Iranian year, representing a 12.3 percent increase in value and a 7 percent increase in volume compared to the same period last year.
In general, Iran mainly focuses on the import of essential products needed by the country and applies certain restrictions on the import of goods produced domestically.
