BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 8. Iran saw a 26.3-percent increase in domestic truck and trailer output for the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), compared with the same time last year, Trend reports.
Iran manufactured a total of 27,892 trucks and trailers domestically for 9 months as stated in the data from Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade.
Meanwhile, in the same period of last Iranian year, the country’s domestic truck and trailer production stood at 23,089 vehicles.
During the 9th month alone (November 22 through December 21, 2023), 3,219 trucks and trailers were produced in the country, representing a 7.57-percent decrease compared with 3,483 units in the same month last Iranian year.
In total, 34,136 trucks and trailers were manufactured in the country over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023). Iran’s domestic truck and trailer production increased by 150 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
There are three giant car manufacturing companies, Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
Overall, 989,913 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks, trailers, and so on) were manufactured in Iran in 9 months. This is an increase of 12.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
