BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. Iran’s non-oil exports reached 113 million tons, valued at $40.5 billion, in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), said Mohammad Rezvanifar, director general of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Trend reports.
According to him, this is an increase of 9.4 percent in volume and a decrease of 11 percent in value compared to the same period last year.
The director general stated that China, Iraq, the UAE, Türkiye, and India were the top five destinations for Iran’s non-oil exports, with values of $11.5 billion, $7.7 billion, $5.2 billion, $3.5 billion, and $1.8 billion, respectively.
Rezvanifar also pointed out that the value of Iran's total non-oil trade turnover stood at $94.8 billion in 10 months.
Iran’s non-oil exports exclude only crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
