BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 4. Iran’s non-oil trade turnover reached about 410 million tons, valued at $276 billion, in the past 29 months since the current Iranian government took office in August 2021, Trend reports.

Based on the data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran exported 314 million tons of non-oil goods, worth $126 billion, and imported 95.6 million tons of goods, worth $150 billion, in the specified period.

The IRICA data also provides a breakdown of Iran’s trade performance in different time frames. In the first 7 months of the current government (August 23, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Iran’s trade turnover was 103 million tons, valued at $66 billion.

In the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Iran’s non-oil trade volume was about 161 million tons, valued at about $115 billion.

Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), Iran’s non-oil trade volume was about 146 million tons, valued at $94.8 billion.

Iran’s non-oil exports exclude only crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
