BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 14. Iran exported 44.4 percent of its non-oil goods in value and 48.2 percent in volume to the member states of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), said Rouhollah Latifi, an official of the Central Union of Rural and Agricultural Cooperatives of Iran, Trend reports.
Latifi noted that Iran’s non-oil exports to SCO countries reached $18 billion for 54.5 million tons in 10 months, which was a 1 percent increase in value from the same period last year. However, he did not specify the change in volume.
The latest data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) showed that Iran’s total non-oil exports for 10 months were 113 million tons worth $40.5 billion.
Latifi further stated that Iran’s non-oil exports to SCO members in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year amounted to the following values: China ($11.5 billion), India ($1.8 billion), Pakistan ($1.7 billion), Afghanistan ($1.5 billion), Russia ($760 million), Uzbekistan ($272 million), Tajikistan ($210 million), Kazakhstan ($164 million), Kyrgyzstan ($63.3 million), Belarus ($17.1 million), and Mongolia ($330,000).
"Meanwhile, Iran's overall non-oil trade turnover with SCO members stood at 64.3 million tons , valued at $37.1 billion in 10 months, representing a 5.5 percent increase in value and a 40.7 percent increase in volume from the same period last year," he said.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was founded in 2001. It has nine members (China, India, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Iran) and three observer members (Afghanistan, Belarus, and Mongolia) right now.
