BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11. Imports of non-oil products to Kermanshah province (western Iran) grew by 29 percent in value and 13 percent in volume during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024), compared to the same period in the last year, Ali Asghar Abbaszadeh from the Kermanshah Province Customs Office said, Trend reports.
According to him, the province received 8,840 tons of non-oil products worth $70.7 million during the reporting period.
Abbaszadeh went on to say that the majority of imported products were equipment, such as diesel generators and various catalysts.
Meanwhile, Kermanshah has two border checkpoints and five border markets.
According to the most recent data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran's total imports were 35.8 million tons worth $59.9 billion in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year, representing an 11.1 percent increase in value and a 6.4 percent increase in volume year on year.
In general, Iran concentrates on importing vital products and imposes limits on importing domestically made commodities.
