BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. The exports of non-oil products from Khuzestan province, located in southwestern Iran, increased by 36 percent in value terms and 33 percent in weight terms during three months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through June 21, 2023), Trend reports via the province's customs office.
In the reporting period of this year, Khuzestan province exported 5.78 million tons of non-oil items, with a total value of $1.85 billion.
The products (2.18 million tons worth about $580 million) were mainly exported to Iraq, increasing by 197 percent in value and 48 percent in weight.
Furthermore, 3.93 million tons of products worth $2.14 billion were imported to Khuzestan province during the three months. The import of products increased by 11 percent in value and 16 percent in weight compared to last year.
To note, Iran's non-oil exports to foreign markets amounted to $13.5 billion in the first three months of the current Iranian year.
