(Kavkaz-press) вЂ" The delegation of the European and North-Atlantic Office of the International Civil Aviation Agency (ICAO) does not see any problem in controlling of 100 km airspace on Azerbaijani-Georgian border.

“Azerbaijan as an independent country has a right to control its airspace and to provide navigation service in its territory, and ICAO cannot interfere in this issue. However, the international organization has a mechanism of planning of air routes, which resolves all problems”, Karsten Tail, the Director of the Office, said at the news-conference.

The argument between Georgia and Azerbaijan appeared on the 100-km airspace, which was given to Georgia by Azerbaijan in 2001 for lack of the necessary technique. Azerbaijan stated about its readiness to control this space in spring of 2005, while it turned out unprofitable for Georgia which would have to lose $1.5m a month.
