ENTREPRENEURS FROM GERMANY TO PAY A VISIT TO BAKU ANEW IN 2006

Businessmen from various regions of Germany will visit Baku in 2006 again, the chairman of the Board of the German-Azerbaijani Union for Economic Assistance (DAWF) Rolf Lange said on 23 September 2005.

According to him, these companies will be interested in the country’s infrastructure projects. Representatives of the business circles of the Federal Land Baden Wuertemberg will be in Baku from 25 to 27 September 2005. The mission will be headed by the deputy Minister
of Economy of Baden Wuertemberg Horst Mehrlaender.

Azerbaijan is planned to be visited by about 15 representatives of Germany’s business. It is noteworthy that for the first time such a delegation from representatives of the middle business arrives in Azerbaijan. In this regard a business forum for entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan and Germany will be held on 26 September 2005 staged by DAWF. German companies are involved in various projects in Azerbaijan. Among them, construction of the steam and gas plant in Sumgayit, rehabilitation of the electrical power transmission systems and etc.

Rolf Lange assessed positively a business climate in Azerbaijan, however, he noted, a number of measures are needed to protect the investments, as well as for the improvement of the business climate.
