Germany interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in agrarian sphere

Germany is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the agrarian sphere, the Ambassador of Germany to Azerbaijan, Detlef Lingemann told at the meeting with the Azerbaijan’s Agricultural Minister Ismat Abbasov. The issues of future cooperation between the two counties have been discussed at the meeting, the Ministry told Trend.

The Minister presented his own proposals, noting perspective fields for the investing, particularly, establishing joint ventures on fruit concentrates and juices, diary and meat processing enterprises, setting up similar facilities in vine-growing, cattle-breeding.

Lingemann underlined, that the German entrepreneurs are always ready to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in agriculture and said, a delegation of specialists and businessmen from Germany will arrive in Baku in late November. The agricultural specialists will also be among them.

The Ministry noted, the Technical Assistance Society of Germany (GTZ) has implemented since 1998 till now the project of the integrated food safety costing 3,4 million DM and the project in Divichi at the amount of 4,5 million DM.

On the whole, the German government rendered financial aid to Azerbaijan in the amount of 303,3 million euro,140 million euro have been allocated within the European Union, 130,3 million euro fall at the bilateral financial cooperation and 33 million euro - for technical assistance.
