The volume of tobacco leaves gathered in Azerbaijan from the total planted area of 3,000 hectares was 7092 tons, which is for 592 tons more as compared to the figure of 2004 РіРѕРґР°, the Ministry of Agriculture told Trend.
The Ministry stressed, the forecast for the tobacco leaves harvesting for 2005 was defined in the volume of about 8,000 tons, which is for 1300 tons more of the same indicator for the previous year.
The tobacco leaves are mainly planted on the area of Sheki-Zagatala, Gakh, Gabala and Balaken economic zones of Azerbaijan.
