The Baku Interbank Currency Exchange (BBVB) has determined the top five of banks leading operators of the exchange market in December 2005 - as a result of trading session in the currency section, the BBVB announced. The list of leading banks of the exchange currency market in accordance with the share of deals concluded at the exchange included Technikabank, Bank of Baku, Kapitalbank, Amrahbank and International Bank of Azerbaijan.
The share of Technikabank in the total amount of currency deals comprised 36.38%, Bank of Baku 12.03%, Kapitalbank 5.19%, Amrahbank 4.76% and the IBA 3.77%.
26 banks participated in the trading sessions in December. 44 trading sessions were held in the electron trading system (BEST) and 159 deals were registered. In December the amount of trading sessions constituted 97,2646m AZN (486,323bnAZM) or $105,919m. The amount of trading sessions with euro comprised 142.8m manats. The amount of trading sessions in the currency section on USD grew 2.13 times as compared to November.
Exchange rate of national currency dropped in December 1 manat from 4592 manats to 4593 manats per 1 USD. As a result the average sustained rate of manat in regard to the US dollar made up 0,9183 AZN (4591.46 AZM) per 1 USD in December, whereas it was 0,9191 AZN (4595.45 AZM) in November.
