Official opening of sugar-refinery plant Azersun Holding in the Imishli region is planned to be held in late March. Azersun Holding is carrying out testing and setting work at the enterprise, Trend reports.
At present testing production comprises approximately 3,000 tons of sugar, the Company noted.
The daily production capacity of the enterprise will make up 5,000 tons of sugar.
At present the company has considerable reserves of sugar-beet for use at sugar production in the amount of over 15,000 tons. The annual requirement for sugar-beet ranges from 500,000 to 600,000 tons. Around $80m was invested into the development of the enterprise.
The number of the employees of Azersun Holding, established in 1992, exceeds 3,000. The fields of activities of the holding are refinery and bagging of tea and oil, trade and distribution, construction, banking, insurance, production of cartoon-paper wares, tinned meat and vegetable, transportation and keeping of cargos.
