In 1st quarter cargo transportation by KASPAR exceeds 3m tons

From January to March 2006 the cargo transportation by the Caspian Shipping Company (KASPAR) comprised 3,289,000 tons, or 54,000 tons more as compare 2005. A total of 1,181,000 tons was transported by tankers, 785,000 tons - ferries, 323,000 tons - land cargo fleet, Trend reports referring to a news release by the Company.

Considerable part of cargo transportation (3,340 tons against 46,000 in 2005) was carried out by the ships working in the Caspian Sea.

Over this period 2,900 passengers used services of the ferries.

The land fleet of the Company delivered 255,000 tons of different cargoes to ports without any defects in the commercial view. This figure is higher by 8,000 tons as compare 2005.
