During 2 or 2Q2006, two more Azeri banks may be credited for performing leasing operations under IFCs leasing program for Azerbaijan and Central Asia, reportedly said Aliya Azimova, IFC representative to Azerbaijan.
IFC established a special $30mln fund to finance leasing services of small and middle-size enterprises through banks or leasing companies in Azerbaijan and Central Asia.
In Azerbaijan, first IFCs $5mln credit received UniBank. Azimova said Azerigazbank will receive $1mln for same purposes.
