Fuel, fish, oats to import in Georgia from Azerbaijan at zero customs duties Georgian official

Georgian government together with Foreign Ministry is working out the trade agreement among GUAM countries. Deputy Finance Minister of Georgia Giorgi Godabrelidze told Trend that up to coming of new free trade agreements within GUAM in effect, they are practicing the agreement in effect for entire CIS.

Godabrelidze said production with certificate issued by country of origin is not subject to custom duties.

В"As to Azerbaijan, fuel, fish, oats are subject to zero customs dutyВ", - he stressed.

At GUAM summit ended yesterday, it was decided to work out the agreement for free trade among the members of this international community. Georgia itself is going to export wine, Borjomi mineral water, nuts and other properly certified production.

At 18 May session, Georgian parliaments financial-budget committee debated draft of amendments to custom code and approved it. These amendments envisage cancellation of 13 out of current 16 types of custom taxes. Upon these changes, all production imported I Georgia is subject to zero, 5 percent or 12 percent customs duty. At the moment the highest customs duty is 30%.
