Mitsubishi submitted solid garbage processing concept to government

Mitsubishi Corporation launched talks with Azeri government on construction of the enterprise for solid waste management and processing, trend reports referring to Cabinet of Ministers. Today executives of the company are leading talks at the Ministry of Defense and executive Power of Baku city.

Mitsubishi submitted its concept and stated its intention to make a feasibility study under the project to execute in several stages. First stage covers entrapping and popping petroleum gas and getting power. Second stage covers separation of chemical wastes that badly affect the atmosphere. Third stage is the largest as it covers basic garbage incineration and obtaining electric power.

Mitsubishi proposes to execute the first sage at its own cost compensated through Japanese government-issued grant under В"Clean technologiesВ" program realized a per the Kyoto agreement. This stage, Mitsubishi estimated, will consume some $20mln.

The government studies several versions, including some operations at republics cost with their further compensation through Japanese grant.

The workgroup consisting of representatives of ministries of Economic Development, Ecology, State Architecture and Construction Committee, etc has been established to date. It will select the most affordable proposal.

Azeri government already receive proposals from Japanese, Korean, Russian, German, Canadian, Austrian and other companies specialized in waste management.
